My two biggest passions concerning computers are hardware and video games. I wrote this book because I don't want that important pieces of history regarding computer hardware, games and, in a smaller amount the 80's operating systems to be forgotten and lost. I want everyone to appreciate the hardware and software industry and especially the people behind them as they worked many days and nights to deliver us fast and advanced computers and entertaining and complex games.

The book is as detailed as possible that is why it is so big; I did an extensive research of video games and hardware from the 80's (all platforms, not only IBM PC) so I don't miss anything important and because visuals are important to bring back memories the book contains more than 500 pictures of both hardware and video games from the decade.

There are reviewed more than 180 MS-DOS based games and all important PC hardware innovations from the 80's and I've also described the most important electronic gaming platforms at the time (Video Arcades, Atari consoles, Apple II computers, Atari 8'bit computers, C64, Macintosh computers, NES, Amiga, Atari ST computers and more others.) and I did mentioned about more than 400 games not available on IBM PC's and Compatibles.

While this is not the only book concerning Video Games as there are many great releases out there, this is one tries to be as detailed as possible concerning both Video games and Hardware while being funny and objective.

While the title can make you believe that this release is only about MS-DOS, it is not, this book tries to show the evolution of video games from the eyes of IBM PC's and Compatibles in a time when other gaming platforms were much better and shows how MS-DOS gaming survived despite the weak odds and limited gaming capabilities( weak graphics).

On 23.09.2014 I did a major update for the Kindle version, and now the
book has better graphics, more pictures and better formatting (not yet
perfect); the spelling errors are still present unfortunately.
